What the 15-minute time slot means
The time slot does not set the duration of your visit; it sets the time at which you enter the exhibition rooms. Once inside, you stay as long as you like, and the permanent collection can then be visited freely, without a time limit. The museum operates this way to smooth out the crowds in front of Tintoretto’s large formats, and it works : in the room with The Miracle of the Slave, it’s much more comfortable than in the grand salon on a Sunday. When the ticket counter is enough
A Tuesday in November at 10 :15 am, a Thursday in January outside school holidays, a Friday evening after 6 pm : you buy at the counter, choose the next available time slot, and enter. The museum is open every day, including Mondays and Tuesdays, which spreads visitors over seven days instead of five. The opening hours are on a separate page.
When I book without hesitation
On Saturdays and Sundays between 2 pm and 5 pm, Le Nelie’s brunch and tea time add to the exhibition crowds, and the grand staircase becomes a slow procession. The first and last weeks of an exhibition, as well as school holidays: same conditions. In these cases, the online ticket provides skip-the-line access and your preferred time slot, something the ticket desk can no longer guarantee by 3 pm. I also book when bringing someone who’s discovering the house for the first time, because I want them to climb Tiepolo’s staircase without a queue in front of them.
Date exchange
The online ticket can be exchanged once, up until the day before, via the customer account on the booking platform. This is the flexibility many Parisian museums lack, and it makes booking less risky: if the weather turns or your train is delayed, you can reschedule.

Book the first time slot of the day, visit the exhibition first, then the hôtel particulier, then the tea room. The tour takes 1.5 to 2 hours without the exhibition, 45 minutes to 1 hour longer with it.
What really needs to be booked in advance
The opera evening, however, must be booked—and early: La Traviata is performed in the salons from September 19 to December 19, 2026, with free seating and free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
